Common questions

What exactly is a handle?

A handle is the name in your profile address, such as my.surfcard.io/you. Choose an available name of 3–30 characters using letters, numbers, hyphens or underscores, starting with a letter or number.

Does the person I share with need an app?

No SurfCard app is needed. The recipient opens your profile in their browser and can download a vCard to save your contact details.

What happens when my details change?

Edit your profile and visitors see the updated page when they reopen your link, scan your QR or tap a linked NFC card. Contacts already downloaded to a phone do not update automatically.

Is a profile really free?

Yes. Claiming a handle and publishing a profile costs nothing, and Lite is a permanent free plan rather than a trial.
